Privacy notice
A clear summary of how information submitted through this website is used.
Who is responsible for your information
Jono Wisdom, trading as Ardent Intelligence as a sole trader, is the data controller for personal information handled through this website.
Information we collect
When you make an enquiry, we may collect your name, company, email address, optional phone number, contact preference and the information you include in your message.
The website and its hosting infrastructure also process limited technical information, such as your IP address, request time, requested page and browser information. This is used to deliver the website, diagnose faults, protect it from misuse and apply enquiry rate limits.
Please do not include special-category or other highly sensitive personal information in the enquiry form.
Why we use it
We use enquiry information to understand and respond to your request, provide a requested quote, arrange a conversation and keep an appropriate record of business correspondence. Where you ask us to take steps towards buying a service, the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. For general enquiries and proportionate business record-keeping, the lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating and developing Ardent Intelligence and responding to people who contact us.
We use technical information under our legitimate interests in operating a reliable and secure website, preventing abuse and investigating faults. We do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing without an appropriate lawful basis.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not become a client relationship, we normally delete the enquiry and related correspondence within 24 months of the last meaningful contact. If you become a client, relevant client and contractual correspondence may be kept for up to six years after the relationship ends where needed for legal, tax, accounting or dispute-handling purposes.
Technical logs are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for security and operational troubleshooting and are rotated as the available log space is used. We may retain particular records for longer where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
Who receives it
Hostinger provides the domain and VPS hosting infrastructure. Google provides Gmail email delivery and storage. These providers process information under their applicable service and privacy terms. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or public authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required. We do not sell your information.
International processing
Hostinger and Google operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK. Where this occurs, we use providers that state they apply recognised transfer mechanisms and safeguards, including applicable adequacy arrangements and contractual protections. You can read the providers' current information in the Hostinger privacy policy and Google privacy policy. Contact us if you would like further information about safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, and to receive certain information in a portable format. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise a right, email us using the address below.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
